Case Study 2

1.) Why did the IT group at Royal Caribbean have such poor performance and business status in the company?

It is because of the silos between them. They don't help each other instead they compete for attention and it turns that they fail to improved their work as in IT.

2.) What are the top three factors in Tom Murphy's turnaround of the IT function at Royal Caribbean? Explain the reasons for your choices.
  • Respect because this is the most important factor in business, they must respect each other and especially the one's in higher rank. It is one of the reasons why there are a lot of success for businessman and companies around the world.
  • Communication because we need to communicate to others especially to the co-workers or your team your instance, without it theirs no teamwork, friendship and success to the company and to the employees.
  • Discipline in time and everything we do and act because it is also important to be on time in work, meeting and everything you do. You must also be responsible in time and what you act or do because your are working in a company that is also aiming for success.

3.) Visit the website of Royal Caribbean. Evaluate the effectiveness of the website and the services being offered to attract and serve the travel needs of customers and prospective customers. What could be improved? Outline the business impact of your idea.

Maybe, they can put a forum in their website for the questions of their customers to be answers by them also. And pictures of some sites they can see in some places the cruise will go.
